This museum space is the result of the effort and dedication of the Rancho Regional da Casa do Povo de Ílhavo, an association founded in 1984. The rancho was born with the purpose of preserving and reviving the dances, songs, and uses and customs that characterize the people of Ílhavo. The museum is a natural extension of this mission, acting as a center for the collection, conservation, and sharing of the rich popular culture of Ílhavo, ensuring its traditions remain alive.
Inside the museum, visitors can discover a vast collection of objects carefully gathered by the rancho members throughout its existence.
