History

Related to the passage of the body of D. Mafalda, daughter of D. Sancho I, who would have stopped at this location on the way to the Convent of Arouca.

Structure

Granite arch of about 5 meters in height, with simple decoration and crosses on the sides.

Decoration

It features geometric and vegetal motifs on the arch frame and on the inner part.

Function

Originally a medieval boundary marker, today it is an important cultural and historical point.

Easy to find, located on the main road of the locality.
