History and Purpose

Founded in 1981, the Costa Nova Sailing Club stands out as one of the oldest nautical institutions in the Ria de Aveiro. Since its inception, its main focus has been the promotion of dinghy sailing, actively dedicating itself to training new sailors and disseminating the most established sailing modalities. Over the decades, the club has affirmed itself as a reference in regional nautical sports, contributing significantly to the area's vitality and recognition.

Nautical Infrastructure

The Costa Nova Sailing Club Marina boasts one of the largest and most complete private mooring infrastructures nationwide. It includes a floating marina equipped with an external protective barrier, capable of accommodating approximately 130 vessels. Additionally, it features a land area for parking around 100 vessels. For the convenience of users, the marina offers potable water and electricity supply, with the entire area being illuminated and having controlled access to ensure the safety of the vessels.

Sailing Dynamism

The Costa Nova Sailing Club is a hub of activities related to recreational navigation. Annually, it organizes the famous 4 Horas da Costa Nova (4 Hours of Costa Nova) regatta, an event that stands out in the sports calendar and attracts nautical sports enthusiasts to the Ria de Aveiro. In addition to organizing competitions, the club maintains a sailing and nautical school, providing training at various levels, from initiation to advanced, with the support of experienced and accredited instructors.
