O Lugar dos Afetos (The Place of Affections) is located in the area of Eixo, part of the municipality of Aveiro.

It is situated in a quiet area, away from the city's bustling centre, integrated into an urban environment that invites a more unhurried pace.

A Space Dedicated to Affections

This place was conceived by the writer and physician Graça Gonçalves (1951-2017), whose work focused on the importance of affections and emotions for human development and well-being.

O Lugar dos Afetos (The Place of Affections) emerged from her literary work and the games she created, with the purpose of being a space where the expression and communication of feelings are promoted in an educational and playful way.

Characteristics of the Space

The space extends over a considerable area, approximately 4000 square meters, and features a unique structure.

It comprises a set of eight houses, each with a theme that seeks to evoke and express different aspects of affections and fantasy. Between these constructions, paths and gardens invite exploration.

There is a suggestion to start the visit on the left side, following a path that symbolizes the "heart side."

When visiting O Lugar dos Afetos (The Place of Affections), visitors can expect a different journey, focused on the inner world and human relationships.

An approach is proposed that combines playfulness with education, through guided tours that explore the symbolism of the buildings and outdoor spaces. The activities invite reflection and sharing about feelings and emotions, based on the principles developed by the park's creator.
