Jardim dos Pipos is located in the village of Alagoa, in the municipality of Águeda, next to a low-traffic secondary road. Surrounded by traditional-style houses, this green space forms a transition between the residential centre and the surrounding rural areas.

On the east side, the garden opens onto a pedestrian walkway and some parking spaces; to the west, it extends into a strip of lawn that reaches small scattered groves.

Vegetation and shade

Various medium-sized trees grow on the well-maintained lawn, providing shady spots throughout the day. Their lush canopies cool the environment during summer and invite short breaks, while the intense green of the turf enhances the contrast with the sky and the surrounding urban fabric.

It is possible to observe species common in central Portugal, such as young cork oaks and elms, which attract birds and insects, providing a tranquil and natural environment.

Structure and perspectives

One of the garden's distinctive features is a set of simple metal frames, possibly remnants of old supports for hammocks or recreational activities, that form outlines in front of the trees. These elements create visual framings, offering varied perspectives on the space.

As one walks through the garden, small nooks of light and shadow emerge, where the variation in terrain and the metal structures invite visitors to look at different angles, making the visit more dynamic even in a small-sized space.
