The Parish Church of Saint Michael the Archangel is located in the locality of Junqueira, an area that is part of the Couços urbanization, in the municipality of Vale de Cambra. It is situated at a central point within the local community, easily identifiable by its presence and serving as a landmark in the area's landscape.
This religious building features an architectural design of an eclectic nature, reflecting the mix of styles typical of this approach. Its basic structure has a longitudinal plan, a common configuration in churches, composed of the main nave, the chancel where the high altar is located, and is complemented by a bell tower that stands out in the ensemble.
Inside the church, one of the points of greatest artistic interest is the main altarpiece. This decorative and spiritual element incorporates carved woodwork dating from the second half of the 18th century. Although these pieces have undergone recomposition at some point in their history, they retain their importance as a testament to the sacred art of the era and enrich the interior space of the chancel.
