The adaptation of this place, which was once a pizzeria, to house the functions of a church, demonstrates how the local community found a solution to have its own place of worship in the neighborhood, with a project designed by architect António Eurico Moreira e Silva and with the voluntary participation of the inhabitants.
The main function of this church is to serve as a center for gathering and celebration for the community of Bairro de Santiago. It offers a welcoming environment for residents seeking a place of worship close to their homes.
Inside, the space was organized to accommodate about 120 seated people. There are images of Santiago, which invokes the identity of the neighborhood, and of Our Lady of Fátima, the latter a symbolic offering that enriches the temple's interior.
