Casa dos Corte Real is located in the village of Passos, in the parish of Santiago da Riba-Ul, municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis. It is situated in a rural setting, surrounded by small agricultural fields and traditional country lanes.
The building stands out for its discreet presence alongside the local municipal road, offering a point of historical interest in the rural landscape of northern Aveiro.
Dating from the late 17th century, the house features an inscription dating back to the year 1686, highlighting its origin as a noble family residence. Over time, it served as an example of local prosperity and the influence of the lineages that resided there.
The annexed chapel, dedicated to Saint Anthony and built in 1697, reinforces the house's role as a center of devotion and community gathering, remaining a testament to the rural religious practices of the era.
Erected in a late-Mannerist style, its plan is rectangular and the elevations are distinguished by decorative sobriety. The main two-story facade is marked by a central staircase without a balustrade, featuring twin pyramidal finials and geometric decorations at its support points.
The second-floor windows are notable for their balconies on fluted corbels, flanking the coat of arms displaying symbols of the Vasconcelos, Brandões, Soares, and Silvas families. In the chapel, the straight lintel portal and the triangular pediment crowned by a carved cross lend a unique aesthetic feature.
