Inaugurated in 1998, Forum Aveiro was a pioneer in the country by introducing the concept of an open-air urban center. Breaking away from traditional models, it stood out by focusing on gardens, green areas, and generous public spaces, creating a unique atmosphere for its visitors.

Its innovative approach and careful architectural integration were widely recognized. Forum Aveiro was honored with the prestigious Mipim Award in 1999, in the category of best urban center in Europe, and later, in 2018, received the “Portugal Cinco Estrelas” award. Its ability to harmonize contemporary aesthetics with local architecture also earned praise from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), underscoring the success of this original vision.
