Piscina da Maia is located in the Maia area, part of the Santo Espírito locality, in the municipality of Vila do Porto. Its position is privileged, benefiting from its proximity to the coastline of Santa Maria Island and the natural landscape that characterizes this area.
It is a place that harmoniously integrates with the surrounding environment, offering an unobstructed view of the ocean and reflecting the typical tranquility of the Azorean landscapes.
Characterized as a sea bathing area, Piscina da Maia is shaped by the Atlantic's interaction with volcanic rock formations. Seawater constantly enters and renews itself, maintaining its freshness and transparency, elements that invite an invigorating swim.
This space provides direct contact with the marine environment, allowing visitors to enjoy the ocean waters in a more sheltered setting than the open sea.
The beauty of Piscina da Maia lies in its perfect integration with the natural landscape. The dark rocks, sculpted by the force of nature over time, contrast strikingly with the turquoise blue of the water, creating a scene of great visual impact.
It is a place that invites relaxation, ideal for those seeking a moment of tranquility and to appreciate the serenity of Azorean nature. The sound of the waves and the sea breeze contribute to a truly relaxing atmosphere.
